The Rupununi Livestock Producers Association was formed in 1970 by a group of farmers and has been instrumental over the years in supporting and sustaining the livestock industry in the Rupununi, Region Nine.

The Greater Guyana Initiative is supporting the association through the Egg Sandwich project, which is a GY $120 million investment to support meat and egg production in the Rupununi.
